VR Church Australia - Worship Leader - Donna McTaggart
As VR Church grows, our leadership team is expanding. Donna McTaggart grew up in a traditional Bible-based church and spent high school years at a Christian boarding school. Music has always been a part of her life, playing various instruments and singing with various church groups. Hosting events and teaching in the small biz world has prepared her for new challenges in VR Church. She now joins our team as a Worship Leader. Her response to new challenges in VR Church is that it has given her the opportunity to fall in love with God’s church in an exciting new way.
Who are the pastors?
Pastor Bismik is a youth pastor from Germany, a trained historian and philosopher (both a masters degree), a doctoral candidate and a metal band singer. At the age of 17, he experienced Jesus' saving power, which since then has become the anchor and goal of his life. His favorite VR game is Iron Wolf, because of his favorite movie "U96". His favourite beer is the good old franconian "Huppendorfer".
Bishop D.J. Soto began preaching in the world of virtual reality in 2016, believing that faith is renewed as people engage with the good news of God’s love on new technology platforms. He is now the lead pastor of the first church in VR - Virtual Reality Church, which is a church that is intended to be radically inclusive and consistent with Christianity’s long history of adapting to new forms of media. DJ and Kari have five children, and they travel to spread the vision about faith in VR.
Lead Pastor Alina was a flight attendant and had a passion for skydiving until she became disabled about 10 years ago. She has an autoimmune condition as well as a rare disorder called Erythromelalgia. These keep her confined to her home a majority of the time. She is now a pastor at VR Church and has started a charity giving VR headsets to those in need. She is married to a loving, supportive husband and is blessed to have her VR family. She says she has never known so much love as she does today.
