Rocket Party: Perseverance Rover Launch


The 2020 Mars launch window is open, and NASA is taking full advantage. They are launching the Perseverance rover, formerly "Mars 2020", the heaviest and most advanced rover ever launched to the Red Planet.

  • Rocket: United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket in the 541 configuration
  • Payload: The Perseverance rover, the Ingenuity experimental helicopter, and sky crane landing system
  • Destination: Jezero Crater, Mars
  • Launch Site: SLC-41, Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA
  • Launch Window: Thursday July 30, between 07:50 and 09:50 EDT
